Care & Cleaning

Exterior detailing — from decontamination to gloss restoration.

This isn't a wash. It's a sequence of stages that removes contaminants, prepares the surface, and restores the clarity that time and improper washing have taken away.

Exterior detailing typically takes half a day. Larger vehicles or those with heavier contamination may need a full day. We confirm exact timing in your quote.

The problem

Why this matters for your car.

Your paint absorbs contaminants daily that a regular wash doesn't remove: iron oxide particles from brakes and rail dust, tar deposits, pollen, tree resin, and industrial pollutants. Over time these bond to the surface, making the paint dull and rough to the touch, and preventing any subsequent protection from working correctly. This isn't dirt that washes off — it needs chemical and physical decontamination.

The process

Step by step — nothing is skipped.

  1. Pre-wash and snow foam

We rinse the vehicle to remove loose dirt, then apply a snow foam pre-wash that begins lifting deposits from the paint surface.

  2. Hand wash

We hand wash the car with pH-neutral products using a two-bucket method, minimising the risk of introducing new scratches during the wash stage.

  3. Iron fallout removal

We apply a dedicated fallout remover that reacts with iron particles bonded to paint and rubber, making them safe to remove without abrasion.

  4. Clay bar (physical decontamination)

We work a clay bar across the full bodywork to remove physical contaminants that didn't lift with chemical washing. The surface should feel smooth to the touch — that's the sign decontamination is complete.

  5. Polish and finish

Where included, we apply a light hand or orbital polish to restore gloss and improve clear coat clarity.

  6. Final inspection

Before handover, we inspect the vehicle under direct light with you. The result is verifiable in person.
